ITC Park Sheraton treat

A few of us from our group had passed out in 2011. We were part of the B.Tech program. I was one amongst the passouts. But there were a large number of my friends who were in the dual degree program and it took them one more year to passout and they'll get a B.Tech + M.Tech degree.

So, I started to earn and was working at ITC Ltd. At ITC, there was this benefits package where we could use 50K Rs per year of ITC products and we could get it reimbursed. That covers Wills Lifestyle, ITC Hotels, ITC food products etc. So, I wanted to take my friends for a massive treat since I had started earning. I was in Chennai and I called them over to ITC Park Sheraton and I think the bill amount was some 16K Rs for all of them. We had a blast of a time. It's one of those fancy hotels. We met Hariharan and Sivamani - Both awesome musicians.

The funny part happened a few days after the treat when I reached Bangalore (where my home office was) and I tried to file for reimbursement for this amount spent. But turns out that that particular hotel of ITC is not part of the set of hotels where you can get the bills reimbursed - There was some random reason associated with it. Something around ITC Park Sheraton is a property managed by the ITC group but not owned by the ITC group and hence, such hotels aren't covered. Anyway, it was a shock to me but I didn't really fight it or anything because I still lost nothing technically. I bought more clothes with that and got it reimbursed.

Anyway, it was my first major outlay from my pocket in life .Below are some of the photos from that memorable treat.

That's the sad band name we came up with - "Y4K" formed by combining the last letters of our nick names in campus - rondY stickY bluckY jackY cracK
